Privacy Policy – ShelfNote

Effective Date: November 22, 2025

Last Updated: November 22, 2025

1. Introduction

ShelfNote (“the App”) is developed by Fika Global Apps (“we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how ShelfNote handles your information.

The App is designed as a fully offline, private note and collection manager. ShelfNote does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal or sensitive data.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

ShelfNote does not collect or process any of the following:

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • Device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID, advertising ID, IP address)
  • Location or GPS data
  • Analytics, usage data, or diagnostics
  • Crash logs or performance data
  • Files, contacts, photos, or media

3. Local Storage Only

The data you add to the App (such as titles, authors, notes, ratings, and lent status) is stored only on your device. Nothing is uploaded to servers or transmitted over the internet.

Data is saved using standard Android local storage (Room database or equivalent). Android may provide system-level protections such as file-based encryption, depending on your device settings.

4. Internet Use

ShelfNote operates completely offline. The App:

  • Does not require internet access
  • Does not communicate with external servers
  • Does not use cloud sync or backup

5. Permissions

ShelfNote does not request or require any device permissions.

The App does not access your storage, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, location, or network services.

6. Data Sharing

ShelfNote does not share data because nothing is collected. There are:

  • No third-party SDKs
  • No analytics tools
  • No advertising networks
  • No external APIs

7. Children’s Privacy

ShelfNote is designed for general audiences and does not collect any data from users of any age.

  • We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
  • The App meets COPPA and Google Play Families Policy requirements because it collects no data.

8. User Rights

Because ShelfNote stores data only locally and does not collect personal information, rights under GDPR, CCPA, and other laws are inherently satisfied:

  • Access: All data is visible inside the App.
  • Deletion: Users can delete items, clear app data, or uninstall the App.
  • Opt-out: No processing or tracking occurs.
  • Data portability: Not applicable since no personal data is collected.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data stays on your device until you remove it. You can delete data in three ways:

  • Delete items manually within the App
  • Clear app storage from Android settings
  • Uninstall the App (this permanently deletes all saved data)

10. International Data Transfers

No international transfers occur because ShelfNote does not send or store data outside your device.

11. Security

ShelfNote does not store data externally. The security of your data depends on your device’s operating system and security settings (such as screen locks and encryption). We recommend keeping your device updated and secured.

12. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect improvements or regulatory changes. Updates will be posted at the same URL with an updated “Last Updated” date.
